Mayflower Nursery School focuses on play-based experiences while following Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards and developmental domains. Mayflower understands the importance in allowing children to explore their surroundings through experiences and encourages children to engage in opportunities that spark the child’s interests. We focus on the child as an individual and provide an individualized learning experience.
Ranging in age from 2 – 5 years-old, Mayflower offers classes to meet your child’s needs and your schedule. Explore our classes to find the perfect fit.
In our youngest class, we teach little ones to love learning through play. Students learn about classroom structure and routine, listening, sharing and communicating.
Our play-based curriculum includes age appropriate topics such as colors, numbers, letters and early literacy. You’ll also see these classes working on large and small motor development and self-help skills.
Throughout the year, our hedgehogs and turtles become more aware of themselves and the world around them!
In this classroom, children develop confidence with class routines, expectations, circle-time and self-help skills.
At this age, we see children move from individual play, to one-to-one play and group play. Children also develop more skills in such taking turns, sharing ideas, expressing emotions, and developing friendships.
Through play and hands on learning, our 3 year old curriculum exposes students to name, letter & number recognition, simple math, science exploration, early writing skills.
In our most advanced class, our students learn how to listen and respect others opinions, how to lead and how to let others lead, and what makes them unique and special.
The class curriculum builds upon our earlier classes with more advanced topics such as literacy, classroom expectations, helping others, self expression, and problem-solving.
Our goal is that every child leaves with the skills and confidence they need to take on kindergarten!
